I am a recognized expert in what I do.

I have extensive experience at all levels of the New Zealand court system, including in complex commercial cases, class actions, insolvency, insurance, aviation, construction, and judicial review. I regularly give strategic advice on commercial problems and case conduct.

Well-known cases include MB Technology v Orbis Blockchain Technologies, a case at the intersection of contract, cryptocurrency and company law, Strathboss v Attorney-General, a negligence claim about state responsibility for border security that turned on genetic evidence, and Minster of Education v Carter Holt Harvey Limited, a class action about alleged building product defects.

Mediator

I trained as a mediator at the world leading Strauss Institute of Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine University in Malibu, California.

My perspective on mediation is shaped by two decades of experience in cutting-edge cases that have gone the distance.

I am an advocate for considering early stage mediation , and where appropriate structuring information exchanges to enable that.
